Love Vermont and this tour

This is my first VBT bike tour and it did not disappoint, starting from sign up to finish. Chris our contact person in Vermont was so helpful, going out of his way to make sure our seats/bikes worked the best for us. The routes that were chosen were beautiful with interesting stops along the way and the lodging very nice. Ride with GPS worked really well, once we got the hang of it. We really like the freedom of the self-guided tour, along with VBT’s organization.

This trip’s activities were perfectly balanced. In addition to the daily biking, there were historic tours, kayaking, and down time. The leaders anticipated my needs before I even knew what I needed! They were great company too. The bike routes were planned thoughtfully with plenty of options to bike more or less. This part of Florida is enchanting, and I learned a lot of it’s fascinating history – one I never knew.

This was our first VBT trip and we found it perfect for our “beginner “ level. Loved Jekyll Island especially! The trip leaders were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

Cycling for lobster rolls and blueberry pie!

We thoroughly enjoyed our self-guided VBT Acadia National Park cycling trip. This was our first self-guided cycling experience and this location was perfect. The GPS worked really well and, as expected, the bicycles were great. We were able to explore at our own pace having ample opportunity to improvise. The Carriage Roads within Acadia are a pure joy. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The accommodations were both wonderful. We highly recommend the self-guided cycling trip in Acadia National Park.

Superb tour, beautiful scenery, expert guides!

This is a fantastic trip led by wonderful, capable guides. Everything from the initial greeting at Red Mountain Resort to the final shuttle to the airport was excellent. There was so much beautiful scenery that was impossible to capture in photographs. All the accommodations were very nice and comfortable and the meals were excellent. The guides were very good at their jobs, and made sure everybody was comfortable and safe throughout the week. Their recommendations for extra rides, hikes or places to eat were always on the nose. This is a great trip to see some beautiful scenery in the American West!

The West Coast Review

What a fantastic trip! Our tour leaders Mark and Barney took excellent care of us. They really worked with us to make sure we had a good comfortable riding experience. The rides, the food, the additional tours, and the hotels were all excellent and very enjoyable. It was wonderful to meet so many new friends from all over.

Southern Charm and History Abounds

This VBT trip exceeded expectations. The mansions we stayed in were stunningly beautiful, and the rides along the Natchez Trace were lovely and well paced. Of special note, was the day riding through the Vicksburg National Park and seeing all the monuments and learning about the battle of Vicksburg. The guides and extra activities were marvelous, as were the meals and friendly folks we rode with and met along the trail.

Southern History at its best ‼️

Just got back from this superb bike trip, thru history laden Charleston,Beufort(SC), and Savannah. Pinkie & I have been to these cities before, but not like this. Sarah & Tim did a fantastic job herding us thru each journey, and prepping some great meals at the legendary lunch stops!! Our 6th tour with VBT, the highlights were the THREE special tours/events with Evaline in Beufort, and amazing historical Savannah tour with KT. The group bonded really well, really fun experience (again) !!!!

Hooked on VBT

As our first cycling trip and first trip with VBT, I could not have had a better experience. It was such a treat to have all the gear ready for you each day, many meals provided, excellent chats and tips for the day from our guides, socializing and getting to know fellow travelers and top notch hotels. We shared many stories and loved the group we were cycling with. After the pandemic’s impact on travels, it was a lot of fun cycling in beautiful Colorado and enjoying the adventures of travel again.

Delightful, Carefree Trip

What a lovely trip! This was my first VBT trip, and it certainly did not disappoint. Everything went off without a hitch due to all the planning of the VBT staff and our great guides. Wonderful accommodations and delightful bike rides through both scenic areas as well as historic city sections, with options for shorter or longer rides.
All the guests on the trip were friendly and helpful. Good people in the great outdoors; who could ask for better.

Southern Charm X's 10!

First time VBT rider and I can’t say enough good stuff about the trip, the guides or the company. The trip exceeded my expectations! Great southern history wrapped up in beautiful scenery, incredible food, great service, good accommodations and interesting people! If you’ve never ridden with a group, this is a great first time trip. It’s obvious VBT knows what they are doing and trains their people well. You won’t be disappointed!

I had never been to Acadia, what an introduction. This was an exceptionally well thought out adventure that gave us full exposure to Acadia and the people and culture of Maine. It was extremely well organized and first class in every way, accommodations, locations, guides, service. Safety was always paramount. Anne and Justin were a fabulous team. I will definitely be coming back to Acadia and to VBT!

Experience the beauty of the desert

My first trip to Arizona could not have been more special or memorable. I had no idea that there were so many different types of cactus. This trip included a visit to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum as well as rides through Bisbee, Tupac, Tucson and Sagauro National Park. The co-participants were fun and pleasant companions. The accommodations were wonderful. The guide leaders were extra ordinary, knowledgeable, competent, fun, and very accommodating with request. The guide leaders were local and were exceptional in reading the weather, our personal meteorologists.

Fun biking through the historical south

This was a very fun bike ride! Even though some of the rides were on roads and bridges, there was a bike lane and drivers were amazingly respectful of the bikers. The accommodations were great and there was evening entertainment that was wonderful!

First bicycle tour anywhere for us, AWESOME!

We loved every minute of this tour thru the desert. Trip was well organized, the leaders (Jim and Kat) were knowledgeable about local history, geography, restaurants, culture…you name it. This was a great way to see the desert, had wonderful accommodations and food, trip lengths varied so that you could “pick your poison”…I can’t say enough about how much fun my wife and I had on this trip. Totally exceeded our expectations for what this trip would be. We’ve signed up for another VBT trip next year and might do another one as well in the spring.

Southern exposure

The Natchez Trace is probably the most underrated cycling venue. The roads were smooth as silk and well maintained. The tour was excellent in that the guides, Doug and Michelle, are a great team and very attentive to everyone’s needs; the inns were superb; the food was wonderful; but most of all the group consisted of the best people one can hope for in a gathering like this. The guides definitely made this a no-worries vacation and Michelle, bless her heart, certainly was the embodiment of Southern hospitality; and Doug was knowledgeable in many things (although I didn’t verify everything he said in Google). Thank you for making our introduction to Mississippi a memorable and wonderful experience!

Biking Chesapeake Bay Area

Beautiful area of our country to bike . The route was mostly flat and very scenic. Great tours of Chesapeake area. Sailing adventure of the Bay was delightful. Our guides were very informed about the area . They went out of their way to make us all comfortable.

VBT Vermont bike tour

My wife and I recently completed a VBT tour in Vermont in the Middlebury and Vegennes area. We were looking for cool weather, the changing of the leaves and fresh air to breathe and relax. All was provided and the trip exceeded all our expectation. The accomodations were excellent. The others on the tour were so nice and the host, Gerry, was just great, going beyond what would be expected. I highly recommend this tour and Vermont Bike Tours. They took great care of us.

Vermont: Middlebury Countryside & The Lake Champlain Coast

This tour was a wonderful combination of exercise and relaxation.

The Natchez Trace Tour consisted of five days of biking at an easy pace on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The Parkway with its excellent paved surface, light, non-commercial traffic, and a speed limit of 50 mph provided a safe and relaxing biking trail of undulating hills. We travelled through beautiful forests and farmland, with opportunities to take in some of the history of the Trace. The stays in the antebellum inns were delightful with large, well-appointed rooms and excellent dining. During our stays in Vicksburg and Natchez, we learned about the Civil War battles in this area and about the era of cotton plantations. The tour provided exercise, history and good food with attentive guides.

Taste & see Mississippi

This trip is fun, interesting, yummy, beautiful, & informative. For me, the E-bike made it easily doable. Our Guides get 5 out of 5 stars for being helpful, thoughtful, capable, & available. There was a great balance of planned activities & free time, with options between both. Highlights were staying at the Fairview Inn, the Civil Rights Museum, seeing the original Natchez Trace, the night of Gospel Music, & riding the bluff along the Mississippi in Natchez.

Best vacation experience ever’

I loved our trip to Vermont for the bicycle tour! Our Leaders were outstanding and I felt like we all were Family in just a short time. The sites and the planned stops from the winery to the dairy farm were not just educational but such enjoyable experiences. The scenery on the rides and daily routes was over the top beautiful! One of my best vacations ever!

Rugged beauty.

The trip is a great experience in the desert southwest. The terrain is rugged but beautiful. Lots of history mixed with artistry out in the wild. Tucson is a great city to bike around.

Highly recommend the Mississippi trip

Biking on the Natchez trace and being immersed in the history and culture of the area was the perfect getaway. The trace is beautiful and, with few cars, a very peaceful place to ride. Doug and Michelle were the perfect leaders who attended to all details making for a worry free and relaxing week.

Excellent tour run by a truly superb tour company!

This is a fantastic trip led by an excellent tour company! From the very beginning, it was obvious this was going to be a great trip. From the moment you book, VBT maintains a steady line of communication leading up to the start of the trip to make sure you know everything necessary and bring what is needed. The transportation arrangements were superb. Once on the trail, the guides are really top notch. Our two guides went the extra mile to get us a 10 mile ride on a section of trail that had been closed due to a mudslide earlier in the year, giving us a great ride up Glenwood Canyon. It had only just re-opened that morning!
Accommodations are all in high-end hotels and lodges. One of the most interesting was the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, a beautiful 19th century resort where such notables as Theodore Roosevelt and William H. Taft once stayed.
From beginning to end, this is a solid tour run by an experienced and capable tour company. Highly recommended!
