This was one of the best VBT tours we have taken. Food, riding, scenery, exploration of the art of Dali, wonderful guides and fantastic accommodations. Pre-trip in Barcelona is a must do to see the Gaudi architecture and Picasso museum as well as experience Catalonia at its best.

Our favorite VBT trip to date. The cultural experience rivaled the well planned cycling routes. Time spent on and off the bicycle created lasting memories for joyful reflection.

What a Great Tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first VBT experience. The tour route was very well laid out and we cannot not say enough about how impressive our tour leaders, David and Frederico, both of whom are natives of Portugal. Kudos to VBT for the way they planned and conducted our tour!

Perfect in nearly every way
We were a group of 8 (most of whom knew each other) which was a perfect size. The biggest problem was that when we tried to leave Barcelona for Girona, the train track was under construction and therefore no train could get to Girona. It meant two subway changes to get to another train station and ultimately to Girona. It happened to be my 73rd birthday, and included way too much schlepping of luggage up and down multiple staircases etc, we all were grumpy, but finally reached our destination. Wish VBT could have forewarned us of that We had only one mechanical support need, but other wise all the bikes were great. And for the hill out of Girona the eBikes were much appreciated. We loved the places to stay, but one thing to suggest is that we back-tracked on the route which seemed like you were just trying to add to the mileage for a day --- can't remember where that was, but perhaps another option is possible. My husband and I did the extra ride out of LaFranc and thank god for the eBike because it was VERY steep but so worth it. THanks for the suggestion. We loved the trip

Phenomenal life changing experience!
This extraordinary bike trip in Mallorca was led by three professional and kind leaders who only had our best interest at heart! The routes were varied, some routes were more challenging than others and the hospitality of all hotels, vineyards, salt mine, etc. we’re 5 star! I highly recommend this tour ! Incredible scenery, variety of terrain and exceptional customer service and food!

Ranks towards the top of best tour ever for us!
This trip was above and beyond our expectations. We biked usually 15-20 miles each morning and each afternoon. We chose e-assist bikes and it made the hills easy to navigate. We live in Central Iowa and have plenty of hills and flats, but we don't usually ride hills twice a day so the e-assist was a great way to relax and stop and take pictures of the beautiful scenery even if we needed to stop on a hill. Loved seeing the ocean multiple times and being able to get in and swim. Pools with beverage time at the hotels were also a hit. The best part of our tour were our two guides - BB & Carolina. Patient, caring, excellent mechanics, wonderful snack preparers, great planning and communicating each day with their white boards and other diagrams. Loved the Ride with GPS app on our phones. No-one strayed too far off course. Each hotel was different from the others and all were beautiful with great beds. We appreciated our luggage being easily transported. Both my husband and I had carry-on size plus a backpack. All pieces were in our rooms when we arrived at a new location. The salt harvesting tour and wine tasting were both hits with our entire group of 19. We also extended 2 days prior in Mallorca with friends who live there, and 3 nights after in Barcelona. Loved the 1898 Hotel. I've already encouraged friends to sign up for future tours at VBT in Mallorca. And they are ready, after seeing our pictures and video provided by our guides. Cheers to BB & Carolina! T&T from Iowa.

New Duoro Bike/Boat trip-a work in process
We love VBT and the best part of this trip was our leader, Manu. He is awesome! All VBT leaders are great, and he is at the top. It was the initial offering of the trip, and some kinks will be addressed, I am sure. Coordinating the boat and the buses (there were A LOT of buses) and biking is complex. We enjoyed the chance to mix with other travelers on the boat. We enjoyed unpacking only once. The Douro is not a river where you can bike alongside, like the Danube--so there is a lot of bus transfer time on twisty steep roads (some complained of car sickness). It is a hilly area--definitely on the "moderate" scale, not the "easy-moderate" scale. Climate always a question-in late April we had both cold (40's) and wet and warm (70s) and sunny. The olive oil mill and winery were good experiences. The archeological site was sketchy.... If you like hills and don't mind the bus, a good trip to some less accessible areas.

Great place, and the bike and boat make it better
Good route, and the ship, with unpacking once, makes it better. The guides were very good, and the food on the ship was excellent. The group of 18 were very enjoyable people.

Very Scenic Ride!
Very scenic bike ride through miles and miles of olive trees neatly planted in rows! Guides were so helpful and courteous. Time to tour Cordoba and Granada without biking. Beautiful accommodations - especially Hacienda Minerva in Zuheros. Post trip in Barcelona is a must! Gaudi's architecture is so creative and beautiful!!

This tour has incredible scenery and enriching cultural attractions.
We visited Andalucia Spain with VBT in Nov. 2012. This was our 24th bicycling trip with VBT and was our best trip yet! Andalucia is more scenic than we ever imagined and the bicycling along rural roads and trails is the best way to experience this area. The longer cycling routes offered each day were through rolling hills with sweeping vistas overlooking olive orchards as far as the eye could see and small white-housed villages nestled in the hill-sides. Andalucia offers many cultural and historic attractions in Seville, Cordoba and Granada that make this a very enriching and rewarding trip.

Fabulous Trip!
We loved this trip - which was the first for this itinerary. Our guides were wonderful, very knowledgeable, and adapted easily when the weather didn’t cooperate. We hiked gorgeous country, learned a lot, and made friends with great people. The accommodations were outstanding, as was the food. We had looked forward to an Camino adventure for years, and this trip did not disappoint!

Great Trip!
Wonderful trip, great guides, good food, well-organized. Guides Alberto and Pol were a great team and anticipated our every need. Moreover, they were fun to be with and full of helpful information. The route was well planned to experience both the Camino Norte and the Camino Franca. The paradors were generally good though not spectacular, with the exception of that in Santiago de Compostela. Visits to the winery and cheese factory were also pleasant and provided variety to the walking treks. The length and elevation gain of the walks were fine for the elderly group, though the initial information should be checked for accuracy. Some walks were more and others were less than advertised.
