Our 7th trip and this might be tops, but they are all so good. This trip is easy and we are so glad we did not order eBikes (we are 79 and 82). Our guides were terrific and the trip is planned so there is time for art (Dali two places),Greek and Roman ruins, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, walking the coast, seeing the Costa Brava from the sea, and exploring the old city of Girona as well as an introduction to Barcelona, where we stayed on for a week in an apartment. Hotels were great too.

VBT Continues to Deliver
It starts with the guides and they deliver on a continuous basis. Andrea and Javier (Javi) are excellent at delivering the experience promised by VBT and go above and beyond to make it all work and make sure you are happy. There are always glitches along the way, mostly created by the guests. They work tirelessly and effectively to solve every problem. Like all the other trips (we have done many). It's so much more than the wonderful biking. The farm visit to the apple orchard is amazing. Who knew so much science and technology are needed to be successful in this day and age. They explained why more than 150 apples stresses the trees and produce inferior apples. They showed us the technology they use to eliminate excess blooms. The resultant apples, juices and ciders are wonderful. The enjoyment of our visit to the Dali museum was magnified many times over by the enthusiasm and knowledge of Kim, our guide. I had no idea how many elements were in each Dali painting and how his mind worked.

What a Great Tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first VBT experience. The tour route was very well laid out and we cannot not say enough about how impressive our tour leaders, David and Frederico, both of whom are natives of Portugal. Kudos to VBT for the way they planned and conducted our tour!

Great Experience!
This self-guided ride through the Costa Brava area was our first experience with VBT; we did the trip with our daughter and her husband. We are all fit and active, but only one is an experienced long distance bicycle rider, and none of us had trained for this trip extensively. We selected e-bikes (also relatively new to most of us) and were thrilled with the whole experience. Accommodations were great, the Ride with GPS app was terrific, and our local host was available every morning to check in with if needed. We hope to do another VBT ride together!

Mallorca Simply Beautiful
The tour in Mallorca was fantastic! There were 19 people on our trip and everyone was so inclusive and warm-hearted. We lucked out on the weather; high 60's during the day, and no rain. Our tour leaders, Anna and Juantxo, were amazing and their energy, delicious snacks, and sense of humor really enhanced the experience. The route took us around the island on narrow roads, highways and many roundabouts. The scenery was amazing with the cliffs and emerald waters. We used a navigation app mounted on our bikes to navigate the route knowing that one of our guides was on a bike or in the van nearby in case of a problem. The navigation app gave verbal directions, however, if a truck or car was going by, you couldn't hear it and there is no repeat button. However, it wasn't really a problem as other people on the tour would point the way. We rode by orange and lemon groves, fields of poppy flowers, olive trees, and artichokes to name a few. Also, the hotels were beautiful and centrally located, the meals provided were very good, and the snacks put out by our guides during each day satisfied all palettes. I'm now a fan of dried fava beans. All in all, I would recommend this tour, but definitely opt for an e-bike as it is very hilly. The only thing I would do differently is schedule my own air travel as I didn't like the flight times and layovers by VBT Travel.

Douro River Cruise
We really enjoyed our cruise along the Douro River. Everyone on the Emerald Radiance staff was helpful, courteous and genuinely friendly. The combination with our VBT bike trip made an exceptional vacation.

Biking with a river cruise.
The scenery and biking were incredible! However, dealing with the ship's docking schedule was somewhat problematic and left less time for exploring the towns and shortened the rides.

Great Bike Tour!
I had a wonderful time on the VBT Andalusian Spain trip and would highly recommend this trip to anyone who might be interested. The scenery is beautiful and the towns we visited had so much history. Our guides could not have been better. They made the trip both fun and safe. I went solo and felt like I gained 18 new friends. The food and lodging were top notch and the rides were totally manageable even for someone who is not an avid rider - but if you have a doubt about your abilities rent an E-bike and your worries will be over!

Spain: Andalusia, Córdoba & Granada
This tour has incredible scenery and enriching cultural attractions.
We visited Andalucia Spain with VBT in Nov. 2012. This was our 24th bicycling trip with VBT and was our best trip yet! Andalucia is more scenic than we ever imagined and the bicycling along rural roads and trails is the best way to experience this area. The longer cycling routes offered each day were through rolling hills with sweeping vistas overlooking olive orchards as far as the eye could see and small white-housed villages nestled in the hill-sides. Andalucia offers many cultural and historic attractions in Seville, Cordoba and Granada that make this a very enriching and rewarding trip.

Camino de Santiago
Really enjoyed the trip. The guides were excellent and very personable. The hiking took us through some very beautiful coastal inland areas. Some of the hiking was a bit strenuous but overall it was well planned. I would have preferred a bit more free time after the hikes in lieu of the pottery, cheese , and cider presentations.

Camino
It was the inaugural edition of the tour but it ran like they had been doing it for years - well planned and well run. Paradors and meals were excellent. Our guides, Diego and Pol, were the best. Great guides and just fun to be around.
