Our 7th trip and this might be tops, but they are all so good. This trip is easy and we are so glad we did not order eBikes (we are 79 and 82). Our guides were terrific and the trip is planned so there is time for art (Dali two places),Greek and Roman ruins, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, walking the coast, seeing the Costa Brava from the sea, and exploring the old city of Girona as well as an introduction to Barcelona, where we stayed on for a week in an apartment. Hotels were great too.

You have to do this!
I wasn't sure I would be able to do this ride. But I had no problem at all. I used an e-bike and kept up the group and had a ball! Everyone on the ride was wonderful and fun to be with. If you aren't sure you might be up for a ride thru Spain, think again. Anyone can do it using an e-bike. I can't wait to do my next trip!! Hum, where shall I go?

What a Great Tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first VBT experience. The tour route was very well laid out and we cannot not say enough about how impressive our tour leaders, David and Frederico, both of whom are natives of Portugal. Kudos to VBT for the way they planned and conducted our tour!

Sunny Spain
The accommodations were fabulous and access to Barcelona before or after the tour was a plus. The routes chosen were a little more trafficked than I thought they would be. Girona and Empuries provided historical depth.

A Perfect Area for Biking
This part of Spain seems to be designed for biking with many small country roads and bike paths. Even the long climb on the first day was gentle and easy (on an E-Bike!). An occasional stint on a busier road brought us to another idyllic country road. The hotel accommodations were great. Nice people, fascinating medieval villages, orchards, fields. I love than Spain has a law requiring motorists to leave 1.5 meters when passing a bike.

Mallorca shouldn’t be missed !
Amazing tour of Mallorca, extremely cyclist friendly - ability to enjoy country lanes (little traffic to deal with), lots of local cultural moments to experience - wineries, olive oil, salt, fresh food.

New Duoro Bike/Boat trip-a work in process
We love VBT and the best part of this trip was our leader, Manu. He is awesome! All VBT leaders are great, and he is at the top. It was the initial offering of the trip, and some kinks will be addressed, I am sure. Coordinating the boat and the buses (there were A LOT of buses) and biking is complex. We enjoyed the chance to mix with other travelers on the boat. We enjoyed unpacking only once. The Douro is not a river where you can bike alongside, like the Danube--so there is a lot of bus transfer time on twisty steep roads (some complained of car sickness). It is a hilly area--definitely on the "moderate" scale, not the "easy-moderate" scale. Climate always a question-in late April we had both cold (40's) and wet and warm (70s) and sunny. The olive oil mill and winery were good experiences. The archeological site was sketchy.... If you like hills and don't mind the bus, a good trip to some less accessible areas.

Mediocre, not the best VBT offers
Having been on many VBT trips, this one didn't quite measure up. Two problems: 1) the E- bike was very heavy and as a small woman was difficult to manage and get on and off. You do need an E-bike though as many long hills. Number 2 was Portugal itself. There wasn't much to see or do in comparison to other European trips, esp. the bike and barge trips. Here, no cute towns to explore and for the first 4 days the scenery was mostly uninspiring. Also, difficult logistics catching the river boat. The guides and boat were excellent but couldn't compensate for a trip with little off-road interest.

Best way to see Spain
This was the best VBT trip I've had. Great biking, and mix of culture. Excellent unique hotels, and our guides were extremely fun and happy to share their culture.

Our Guides Made this Trip Especially Memorable...
Our Guides, Alberto and Pol, made this trip one to remember! Surprises at every bend on the Camino. We especially enjoyed the Northern Coastal areas and the Vineyards (Ribera Sacra) in the mountains overlooking the Sil River. But the cultural experiences really made the trip POP! From the Queimada demonstration to the Pottery making demo at Rectoral de Gundivos, to the Good Shepherd Demo, and did we mention the Paradores! Overall, a great sampler of the Camino, and one we hope to revisit as Pilgrims. Wish we could have spent more time hiking the Camino and less time on the charter bus, but we understand the limitations. Perhaps CW will extend this trip by a few days down the road (path).

A Wonderful Experience
I had high expectations for the Mallorca tour, as the Puglia tour I took last year with Country Walkers set my expectations accordingly, and I was not disappointed. All aspects of the tour were excellent: the wonderful and knowledgeable guides (Helle and Juanjo), the beautiful hotels, the included meals, the side-trips/events, and of course, the fabulous walking/hiking trails. The itinerary was very well designed and managed professionally, with a combination of easy, moderate, and a few challenging hikes. The towns and small cities we visited were all lovely. In all, the tour was all I hoped it would be, and more.
