Delightful Daliland

Enjoyed the bike ride, the small cities and towns, the archeological site at Empires and the trip leaders. A delightful corner of Spain.

VBT Continues to Deliver

It starts with the guides and they deliver on a continuous basis. Andrea and Javier (Javi) are excellent at delivering the experience promised by VBT and go above and beyond to make it all work and make sure you are happy. There are always glitches along the way, mostly created by the guests. They work tirelessly and effectively to solve every problem. Like all the other trips (we have done many). It's so much more than the wonderful biking. The farm visit to the apple orchard is amazing. Who knew so much science and technology are needed to be successful in this day and age. They explained why more than 150 apples stresses the trees and produce inferior apples. They showed us the technology they use to eliminate excess blooms. The resultant apples, juices and ciders are wonderful. The enjoyment of our visit to the Dali museum was magnified many times over by the enthusiasm and knowledge of Kim, our guide. I had no idea how many elements were in each Dali painting and how his mind worked.

What a Great Tour!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first VBT experience. The tour route was very well laid out and we cannot not say enough about how impressive our tour leaders, David and Frederico, both of whom are natives of Portugal. Kudos to VBT for the way they planned and conducted our tour!

Another epic VBT Vacation!

We absolutely loved our self-guided biking trip! Plus, our boutique hotel accommodations were wonderful. Our second night's accomodations were unbelievable, especially our dining experience that was part of our package. Directions were perfect and so was the weather. This is our second trip and cannot wait to book our third. I cannot highly recommend these trips enough!

Costa Brava

My husband and I booked this trip for his 50th with 5 other couples. To say it was the trip of a lifetime is to put it mildly. Though this was self-guided, VBT was always there if needed and made luggage transfers seamless. The accommodations exceeded expectations. Cannot wait to book another VBT trip!

Fabulous way to see Mallorca

This trip was well-organised and went off without a hitch. The mid-ride snack tables were always welcome, loaded with pick-me-up nibbles. The routes were well-chosen: we saw a terrific variety of scenery and appreciated the non-bike aspects of the days. Visits to olive oil producers and vineyards are pretty much essential to southern European tours, but I liked the unique story behind the family and vineyard we visited. The visit to the salt flats was particularly interesting. We appreciated being two nights in each hotel, loved the locations of Porto Soller and Pollensa, and the wonderful spa, architecture, grounds and serenity of Fontsanta to finish off the trip. If I had any quibbles it might be the last picnic - we would have preferred buns and meats and tomatoes and cheese rather than the quiche - and standardisation of the Ride GPS terms and consistency of directions. But the best part of the trip was our guides, Bibi and Anna. Their effervescence, their organisation, their constant commitment to ensure the happiness of every guest was superb. We couldn't figure out how they did everything they did every day always with a smile. Above all with their senses of humour they elevated this tour to the absolutely memorable. PS - With ebikes, the riding is easy; if you choose a road or hybrid you need to be in pretty good shape to keep up with the E's.

Amazing Mallorca

Mallorca was an incredible island with the most beautiful lodging. Our guides made the trip over the top and were two of my favorite.

New Duoro Bike/Boat trip-a work in process

We love VBT and the best part of this trip was our leader, Manu. He is awesome! All VBT leaders are great, and he is at the top. It was the initial offering of the trip, and some kinks will be addressed, I am sure. Coordinating the boat and the buses (there were A LOT of buses) and biking is complex. We enjoyed the chance to mix with other travelers on the boat. We enjoyed unpacking only once. The Douro is not a river where you can bike alongside, like the Danube--so there is a lot of bus transfer time on twisty steep roads (some complained of car sickness). It is a hilly area--definitely on the "moderate" scale, not the "easy-moderate" scale. Climate always a question-in late April we had both cold (40's) and wet and warm (70s) and sunny. The olive oil mill and winery were good experiences. The archeological site was sketchy.... If you like hills and don't mind the bus, a good trip to some less accessible areas.

Wonderful combination of cruise and bike ride

Great trip! Manu and Matt made sure everything went well. The rides were beautiful. The winery visit and the olive oil tasting were terrific. The cruise and VBT worked well together to make sure the trip was flawless. Highly recommend

Great time on the Camino!

This is a wonderful trip with wonderful guides! It gives you a taste of what it would be like to walk one of the Caminos in its' entirety - I hope to go back and do that one day!

An Unforgettable Adventure in Mallorca

We visited Mallorca in May and it did not disappoint. The weather was perfect -- warm but not too hot. The views were breathtaking: dramatic cliffs dropping into crystal-clear coves and olive groves and citrus trees scattered across the hillsides. It felt like every turn revealed a new postcard-worthy scene. Some stretches of the trail were rocky and steep but easily manageable. The guides were personable and knowledgeable. The hotels were close to luxury. I highly recommend this trip to active travelers.

Worth the money.

Our Country Walkers tour either met our expectations or exceeded them in all respects. Our guides, Helle and JuanJo, were terrific; friendly, and engaging, with sufficient knowledge of Mallorca, and environs. They provided encouragement and assistance when necessary. The accommodations were excellent.
