Latvia

This was a fabulous bike tour! Our leaders were attentive, helpful, educational, supportive & inspiring as they shared these two beautiful countries with us. We had a variety of experiences every day & knew we had the option to do only what we wished to. I highly recommend this Baltic tour of Lithuania & Latvia, & would consider doing it again. I’d also happily have any or all of our leaders again somewhere else.

We started in Vilnius and biked our way through the beautifully groomed farms lands and forests of the Baltics, through Riga, and ended in the jewel of the Baltics, Tallinn. The youthful guides were fantastic, and highlighted the uniqueness of the Baltics, taking us along the hiways, but also the byways, through the country side, the farms and fields and forests, through the colorful cobble-stoned towns, and taking us to fantastic restaurants and overnite stays. The trip was patterned after USAID and State Department tours, using many of the same excellent facilities used for their dignitaries. The Baltics is special and its culture interwoven with Russian, Scandinavian, German cultures, a unique blend. I've been on about 8+ tours, and I rate this near the top.

A fabulous, easy trip exploring the countryside, towns, seaside and two of the largest cities in Lithuania and Latvia. This was our first exposure to countries that had been behind the Iron Curtain. To see the effects of prior Soviet occupation in both countries, and then to be able to contrast that with today's proud, extraordinary interesting culture and people in both countries, puts this among the top of all Country Walkers trips that we have taken.

What a wonderful trip! From the outstanding hotels, to the beautiful scenery, and amazingly wonderful food. This trip was a winner. And to top it off we had two of the most amazing and knowledgeable guides, one from Lithuania and one from Latvia who were masterful at getting our group through it all, without a hiccup. Truly a great and memorable trip!
