Beautiful views

Beautiful views, well paved and unpaved trails. Hotels were good and the Thermal Hotel and at the end was great.

Biking the Dolomites

It was a beautiful six days of cycling through Northern Italy. The Dolomites were spectacular!

Terrific experience in unique.environment

Outstanding leaders, beautiful places to stay, fantastic food, and some unique towns as well as impressive coastal scenery. Biking was an excellent way to discover a region that is less frequented by foreign tourists.

October Puglia Bike Tour

Our guides were excellent. Guides make or break the trip. Giuliano and Debra worked well together taking care of our every need. Hotels, transportation, food, and bikes were first class. Great job VBT. Look forward to booking another trip soon.

A Wonderful Biking + Cultural Experience

We were lucky enough to take our adult children on this Bucket List Tuscany bike trip and we all really enjoyed it. We are of various bike riding levels; my husband and I are avid road bikers and the adult kids, not so much. I debated heavily about renting e-bikes instead of road bikes because the rating is "Easy" on the VBT site. I wanted us all to be together so we all got e-bikes ( my husbands and my first experience with them) and boy am I GLAD we did ! The roads were beautiful and well maintained, very safe with little to moderate traffic, but long hills with 11% grade at times on repeat. Such gorgeous scenery and amazing lunches, tours, olive oil and wine experiences, we would have been behind and exhausted by the time we caught up with others. This was a wonderful cultural experience for all of us, learning about Tuscan wine, organic bees and honey, tasting honey wine, a farm to table meal at an olive grove that we are still talking about. My favorite, however, was the cooking class with Chicca ! I can't say enough good things about Andrea and Igor, our guides. They worked tirelessly for our group and even gave us Italian lessons. They were very patient - one road each day and one drove SAG. The hotels were outstanding experiences - old but luxurious with an abundance of character. There is a lot of walking on cobblestone, however, so if you have any ambulatory problems, you should be aware of that. Overall, I would do this ride again and definitely use an e-bike because I think this is a "Moderate" ride and you don't want to miss out on all of your experiences.

Highly Recommend this trip!

We had an incredible trip and the scenery was exquisite! VBT provided great ebikes that were very comfortable to ride and in good working order. The biking route was absolutely fantastic! Every day our luggage had been moved to the next hotel just as planned. The hotels were all lovely. We were routed almost entirely on designated bike paths and only rarely had to ride on roads shared with cars in the 5 day trip. That was remarkable for us and made the riding so peaceful and enjoyable! The scenery was outstanding and each day got better than the next. The only thing we would have liked to have had would have been a more thorough initial orientation to the functioning of the bikes and a few tips on general riding etiquette specific to Italy. However, our local host was responsive to our questions. And our booking agent was very helpful in answering all our pre-trip questions and very responsive to all our trip planning requests. I was very happy with our VBT experience and would recommend highly them!

Biking in the Dolomites

We thoroughly enjoyed the Dolomites and the biking. The hotels were very nice especially the La Roccia in Cavelese. The scenery is outstanding. We liked the self guided aspect since it was all of our immediate family. I was not crazy about my e-bike. It was hard to get on and off because the bar was high. Also the bike is very heavy.

Bike vacation in Puglia - Fantastic

Excellent bike vacation in Puglia. I'd never been there before and found it's a beautiful area with the sea and beaches and ancient walled cities. Less expensive than other parts of Italy and so friendly! I'd been on several bike tours in Europe before but not a self-guided tour. I was a bit apprehensive about that. Thanks to the great staff organizing the tour, we had a fantastic time and want to come back. Deborah was especially helpful with any little issue that came up. With her taking care of the logistics, I was free to really enjoy my holiday.

A marvelous trip in every way

Everything about this trip was perfect from the time we were picked up at the airport in Bari. Alberbello was scenic and it was great to stay in a trulli and from there, it only got better each day. Our guide Deborah was most helpful. She was there when roads were closed and a slight detour was needed and had the best advice on where to eat, what to see, and how to get the most from out trip. The rides along the coasts were out of this world. The inland rides through olive groves and farmland, equally special. We felt attended to and every need anticipated. Would do this trip another trip like this in a nanosecond. Thanks, Deborah!

Best so far

Our fifth trip with VBT and we both thought it was exceptional. Our leaders were from the region and knew many small details that made the whole trip more interesting. Slow food means local and fresh foods. Different cultural twists to dishes you think you know. The views were breath taking and the down hills exhilarating to say the least. Challenging and along the way we got to experience e-bikes. Don't be afraid to try. Every step of the way, beautiful people and accommodations.

My favorite VBT Tour So Far

This was my 6th VBT tour. The best by far. The cycling was the perfect amount of challenging to justify indulging in the amazing food and wine. Claudio and Christian were so knowledgeable and fun. The group, fantastic. And the lodging was the nicest of any place we've stayed in Europe. The views were never ending. I would do this trip again and again and again.

Biking: The best way to experience the world.

Unbelievably beautiful countryside. Not a difficult ride but a few challenging hills by choice. Great accommodations, activities and food. The guides were great leaders and very fun to tag along with.

Outstanding Scenery, Excellent Rides

This was our second trip with VBT and while the scenery was very different, the experience was the same--excellent. Our guides were personable, informative, and helpful, the accommodations were great and the scenery couldn't be beat. Bike paths in this area were plentiful and took you through beautiful areas. As expected, there were a few hills to climb, but they just made the ride a bit more challenging. If anything, the quality of the bike paths made us wish we could have ridden longer in order to take in the scenery around us. We highly recommend this trip.
