With a two adjustments, the trip would be a five star trip. One is to move the warmup ride from the congested, cobblestone streets of old town Passau to an easier riding environment. Second is to be more selective in the room choices in the hotel in the Wachau Valley. Otherwise, the trip met my expectations and more. The riding is in varying environments - forests, mountains, riversides, vineyards, orchards, and small, ancient villages. The elevation changes are minimal, there are long stretches where there is no stopping at intersections, and best of all, for all but small portions, you are riding on dedicated bike trails or bike lanes without having to worry about vehicles. Navigating was easy with Ride with GPS, and we took cues from the trail signs and the bicycle traffic. The luggage transfers and shuttles operated flawlessly.

Most excellent trip starting in Passau and ending in Vienna. Great E-bikes, scenery, itinerary and dining recommendations. Would not have minded if it were longer. I highly recommend this trip.

We had problems getting in touch with Allianz when we needed to change our arrival time in Budapest due to a flight delay. The cruise and biking were wonderful.

This was a fabulous trip through beautiful countryside and famous cities. It was a combination of cruising, biking, and history.

Nicely paced, well thought out itinerary. Easy paths with GPS guidance, though needed to pay attention closely as it was too easy to get off the designated trail though very obvious pretty quickly from GPS if you make a wrong turn. Nice to have a floating hotel so you were not packing and unpacking. Enough time for meals and breaks with great van/trip support. Ebike option was greatly appreciated

The trip was culturally enriching and fun biking--flat and yet interesting. The guides were helpful, informative, and organized. We wish that we had had an area reserved in the dining hall, so we could easily share meals with our VBT cohort. We missed having the morning group gathering to discuss the day's ride. And certainly we wish that Emerald Cruise line had had stricter Covid protocols, so that we could have avoided a large percentage of us getting Covid at the end.

Our trip was just wonderful. The scenery was the star of the show, but it was enriched by the cultural experiences, meals, thoughtful guides, little “surprises,” and congenial fellow travelers.

This was a great tour! The views of the Julian Alps are wonderful! The route is fabulous visiting 3 countries. The guides were knowledgeable, helpful and enjoyable. We appreciated all the local engagement for culture, food and history. This was our first VBT tour and we will be back!
