The Dolomite Valley is a well kept secret to most Americans. It's a land between two cultures, Italian and Austrian, and has much of both. You can buy your Wurst und Beer in the Plaz and enjoy the sunshine. Bicycling is incredible, the trails are heavenly, and the scenery is incomparable. We took the post trip in Verona, took the train to Vicenza and back in the same day. This was our third and favorite VBT Tour.

Absolutely Gorgeous!
We recently completed the Dolomites Bike Trip with (15) ladies ranging in age from 19-82. The terrain was easy enough for everyone, especially those that opted for the e-bikes. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, steep mountains, green valleys, with Tyrollean architecture. Our guides were friendly and knowledgable. We had a fantastic trip...thanks VBT!

Terrific experience in unique.environment
Outstanding leaders, beautiful places to stay, fantastic food, and some unique towns as well as impressive coastal scenery. Biking was an excellent way to discover a region that is less frequented by foreign tourists.

Amazing Countryside
Amazing views and wonderful cultural history. Tuscany is an amazing part of Italy. The biking gave us great opportunity to see the countryside.

This was our first bike trip and the most wonderful vacation we’ve taken. Our leaders were absolutely tops and couldn’t have been more fun, caring, and knowledgeable. They made the trip awesome and the accommodations and food were excellent everywhere we stayed. We are already planning another trip!

Great rides and hotels, not so great bicycles
We had a great time on our tour. The scenery was spectacular, and the Ride With GPS routes were generally well done, so that any navigation problems can be blamed on us. The accommodations were also great. But, the bicycles, especially their maintenance, were a disappointment. There were six riders on our tour, and three of them had substantial problems; including a broken chain, wobbly wheels and derailleurs that malfunctioned (probably because of poor adjustment). (As it happens, neither my wife nor I had problems with our bikes, but the riders who did have them were quite frustrated. I would like to believe that these problems were an unusual breakdown in the system, but if I were to take another tour with VBT, I would come better prepared to fix any problems that arose. I would also say, as someone with quite a bit of experience with and knowledge of bikes, the general quality of the bikes was not all that great, especially given the cost of VBT tours.

Almost Heaven
A wonderful route, except for the first day which was really nothing special. Accommodations we’re great, though the lack of air conditioning in one made for an uncomfortable sleep. My bike however, was a big disappointment; a poorly maintained derailleur prevented me from getting onto the lowest gear and the front wheel was out-of-true resulting in a wobble at higher speeds. Mechanical support on this ride is non-existent. Given the mileage and elevation gain I would not rate this as an “easy” trip, unless you are on an e-bike. Overall a terrific experience, except for the bike.

The Italian Lake District
From day one this trip was special. Our trip leaders Elena and Roberto were knowledgeable, entertaining and very attentive to everyone’s needs. The bike routes planned were as promised, easy, beautiful and diverse. The ferry rides that shuttled us around the lakes were lovely, the afternoon stop at a family winery with a tour and then lunch prepared by the owner was very special and the alpine train ride was breathtaking. I would recommend this trip to friends.

Bike vacation in Puglia - Fantastic
Excellent bike vacation in Puglia. I'd never been there before and found it's a beautiful area with the sea and beaches and ancient walled cities. Less expensive than other parts of Italy and so friendly! I'd been on several bike tours in Europe before but not a self-guided tour. I was a bit apprehensive about that. Thanks to the great staff organizing the tour, we had a fantastic time and want to come back. Deborah was especially helpful with any little issue that came up. With her taking care of the logistics, I was free to really enjoy my holiday.

A marvelous trip in every way
Everything about this trip was perfect from the time we were picked up at the airport in Bari. Alberbello was scenic and it was great to stay in a trulli and from there, it only got better each day. Our guide Deborah was most helpful. She was there when roads were closed and a slight detour was needed and had the best advice on where to eat, what to see, and how to get the most from out trip. The rides along the coasts were out of this world. The inland rides through olive groves and farmland, equally special. We felt attended to and every need anticipated. Would do this trip another trip like this in a nanosecond. Thanks, Deborah!

My favorite VBT Tour So Far
This was my 6th VBT tour. The best by far. The cycling was the perfect amount of challenging to justify indulging in the amazing food and wine. Claudio and Christian were so knowledgeable and fun. The group, fantastic. And the lodging was the nicest of any place we've stayed in Europe. The views were never ending. I would do this trip again and again and again.

Best so far
Our fifth trip with VBT and we both thought it was exceptional. Our leaders were from the region and knew many small details that made the whole trip more interesting. Slow food means local and fresh foods. Different cultural twists to dishes you think you know. The views were breath taking and the down hills exhilarating to say the least. Challenging and along the way we got to experience e-bikes. Don't be afraid to try. Every step of the way, beautiful people and accommodations.

Biking: The best way to experience the world.
Unbelievably beautiful countryside. Not a difficult ride but a few challenging hills by choice. Great accommodations, activities and food. The guides were great leaders and very fun to tag along with.

Outstanding Scenery, Excellent Rides
This was our second trip with VBT and while the scenery was very different, the experience was the same--excellent. Our guides were personable, informative, and helpful, the accommodations were great and the scenery couldn't be beat. Bike paths in this area were plentiful and took you through beautiful areas. As expected, there were a few hills to climb, but they just made the ride a bit more challenging. If anything, the quality of the bike paths made us wish we could have ridden longer in order to take in the scenery around us. We highly recommend this trip.

Trip to Sicily, the Noto Valley and Syracuse
The VBT tour to Sicily, the Noto Valley and Syracuse was an exceptional experience for me. It was a wonderful way to see the countryside and interact with the locals at a much more casual level. Our trip guides Mauro and Lea were outstanding. They were very thorough in taking care of the bicycles and making sure our every needs were met. I love VBT adventures and will continue to book with them!

Cycling in Sicily
Being able to experience the beauty of Sicily on a bike was brilliant! I loved that I could go at my own pace and stop to soak up a view or take a picture whenever I wanted. At the same time I knew I was being looked after and that just down the road there would be lunch or a fun cultural experience waiting for me.
