As you explore scenic medieval villages, you can choose to challenge yourself with optional extra rides—or take a more laid-back approach and relax by the pool at your charming inn, where your hosts are delighted to introduce you to rural life in Tuscany. Your Italian Trip Leaders bring you to secluded swimming coves—including a delightful beach on Giglio Island where you can cool off after a guided tour. Pedal the shores of the Orbetello lagoon, learn to make traditional Tuscan dishes during a cooking class, and enjoy a tasting of Tuscany’s “liquid gold” at a local olive oil emporium.
Great trip, beautiful scenery. Trip leaders were fun, knowledgeable and always attentive to our needs. The agriturismo lodgings were exceptional with delicious food and wonderful views of the Tuscany countryside. Besides taking in the beautiful scenery while biking, we especially enjoyed a swim in the sea on our day off on Giglio Island, castle tours, the oil mill tour, wine tasting, and our hands-on cooking class. In Rome, the VBT representative helped arrange a Coliseum tour which was well worth it.
