Trip extraordinaire!

This trip will be remembered as one of my most memorable experiences. The crew were above and beyond my expectations. Courteous, considerate, knowledgeable, and always there to meet any need. The itinerary was well planned and allowed just the right amount of time to explore and take in the beautiful scenery. The food was gourmet and served with impeccable style. Highly recommended.

Perfection

How do you write a review saying your trip was perfection and make it sound plausible? Wine country was my first VBT, joining 5 friends for what was to become a fabulous week. Meeting13 new people who were all wild and crazy was a plus! But having to great ride leaders, Jonathan and Dan who were great domestiques added to the fun! I am sure that having great weather and just a “few” bottles of good Californian wine polished off what I would say was an A+ week. Thanks to everyone for making the week one to be remembered!

Fantastic trip

Our first trip to Europe and our first bike trip and it was incredible. VBT made the trip hassle free allowing us to enjoy every moment of our trip. Seeing Europe on a bike is the best way to really see the country. Cycling through small hamlets, farm land and along rivers and canals is magnificent. The barge crew was great, trip leaders were awesome and the food was fantastic as well. A trip of a lifetime and we will return for another VBT trip.

Cycling in Sicily

Being able to experience the beauty of Sicily on a bike was brilliant! I loved that I could go at my own pace and stop to soak up a view or take a picture whenever I wanted. At the same time I knew I was being looked after and that just down the road there would be lunch or a fun cultural experience waiting for me.

Experience the beauty of the desert

My first trip to Arizona could not have been more special or memorable. I had no idea that there were so many different types of cactus. This trip included a visit to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum as well as rides through Bisbee, Tupac, Tucson and Sagauro National Park. The co-participants were fun and pleasant companions. The accommodations were wonderful. The guide leaders were extra ordinary, knowledgeable, competent, fun, and very accommodating with request. The guide leaders were local and were exceptional in reading the weather, our personal meteorologists.

A great time!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the VBT Costa Brava trip. The biking itinerary was clearly written and well planned. We are confident traveling in Europe after living there many years, however, we believe it is safer and certainly more convenient to bike with a reputable group tour. VBT offers a high quality experience which we can recommend without hesitation.

First bicycle tour anywhere for us, AWESOME!

We loved every minute of this tour thru the desert. Trip was well organized, the leaders (Jim and Kat) were knowledgeable about local history, geography, restaurants, culture…you name it. This was a great way to see the desert, had wonderful accommodations and food, trip lengths varied so that you could “pick your poison”…I can’t say enough about how much fun my wife and I had on this trip. Totally exceeded our expectations for what this trip would be. We’ve signed up for another VBT trip next year and might do another one as well in the spring.

Amazing!

Best trip I’ve ever done, I don’t intend on doing another vacation not through VBT. Great way to see the country, excellent local knowledge, best tips on local spots. The food took me by surprise at how delicious every meal was. Treated like royalty. Each B&B felt like being at home.

VBT Continues to Deliver

It starts with the guides and they deliver on a continuous basis. Andrea and Javier (Javi) are excellent at delivering the experience promised by VBT and go above and beyond to make it all work and make sure you are happy. There are always glitches along the way, mostly created by the guests. They work tirelessly and effectively to solve every problem.
Like all the other trips (we have done many). It’s so much more than the wonderful biking. The farm visit to the apple orchard is amazing. Who knew so much science and technology are needed to be successful in this day and age. They explained why more than 150 apples stresses the trees and produce inferior apples. They showed us the technology they use to eliminate excess blooms. The resultant apples, juices and ciders are wonderful.
The enjoyment of our visit to the Dali museum was magnified many times over by the enthusiasm and knowledge of Kim, our guide. I had no idea how many elements were in each Dali painting and how his mind worked.

Spain Under the Andalusian SKy

Trip #2 with VBT and once again the entire tour exceeded my expectations. The towns of Spain via bike were breathless. The leaders were knowledgeable, friendly, fun and organized. Loved by Trip #2 and plan to do more……

Absolutely Gorgeous!

We recently completed the Dolomites Bike Trip with (15) ladies ranging in age from 19-82. The terrain was easy enough for everyone, especially those that opted for the e-bikes. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, steep mountains, green valleys, with Tyrollean architecture. Our guides were friendly and knowledgable. We had a fantastic trip…thanks VBT!

Bike routes were beautiful and enjoyable! Loved the town of St. Remy and the location of our hotel. Really enjoyed Avignon and again, the location of the hotel made exploring the city very easy.

A Great Nordic Adventure!

I have wanted to visit the Nordic countries since 1974 when I was an exchange student in Europe. Thank you, VBT, for finally making it an affordable destination! As always, the travel arrangements were seamless, the leaders were phenomenal, and the experience was second to none!

An excellent adventure

This was an excellent tour. We learned a great deal about Vietnam and saw parts of the country that you could only see and visit on a bicycle. The trip was very well organized and the guides were outstanding.

Journey through Vietnam

Come away, o human child...

In preparation for our trip, I bicycled frequently through the bucolic farmland surrounding my home and often thought, “How can Ireland be better than this?”. I imagined it would be similar. It was not, and it was worth every pandemic-inspired hurdle to get there. Each day was more magical than the last — stunning landscapes, a combination of natural and human history, chilly temperatures and rain, all combined to create a surreal and magical adventure. I have traveled all over the world, and have never had a better experience. Our guides were fabulous, and the company just perfect.

Best time in Italy

We had a group of 12 friends and family, we had best time. We just returned a few days ago and many of our group are already talking about where should we go on our next VBT trip.

Unbelievable experience

This was the trip of a lifetime! The people, the countryside, and our guides made this an experience we shall never forget. The trip is definitely a “journey” through Vietnam, tasting the flavors of many different regions. The pre and post trips were equally exciting. We had been thinking about this trip for several years, and it was the best travel decision we have made!

Awesome tour!

Just returned yesterday from Croatia. This was our first VBT tour and I’m sure it will not be our last. Our guides, Marko and Vanja were exceptional and we hated to leave them. They went above and beyond with recommendations for restaurants, things to see and do during the tour as well as the post tour extension in Split.

Holland in the Springtime Bike and Barge

Our trip was fantastic! This was our first time on a barge and found it very comfortable and a great way to interact with group members. The staff was so pleasant and helpful and the food was delicious for all meals. Our guides, Marijn and Aernoud, were the best – fun, caring, creative, sincere, and very sensitive to the needs of those on the trip. The bike routes were beautiful traveling through small towns and cities, biking by canals, green fields, flowers, animals, and peaceful forests. We also enjoyed the special tours where we learned more about this beautiful country and its history. The weather was nice, a bit windy, but the tulips were in full bloom with all their splendid colors! We would definitely recommend this trip!

VBT did it again

VBT has done it again. For over 20 years, my wife and I have been taking bicycle trips. We had long been hoping that VBT, our favorite tour company, would add a trip to Scandinavia. When we found out about this new trip last year, we signed up within days. It did not disappoint. Our leaders were friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. We had nice weather. Our mid-September departure had temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, and occasionally in the 70s. The rides were beautiful. We usually ride road bikes, but were glad to be on hybrids because there were some gravel surfaces and even a few miles of dirt road. The local people were a bit reserved, but quite friendly when approached. English is widely understood and spoken in Scandinavia. We chose to do both the pre trip in Copenhagen and post trip in Helsinki. We are glad we did. The evening cruise to Helsinki through the Stockholm archipelago was stunningly beautiful.

Our guides were excellent. Guides make or break the trip. Giuliano and Debra worked well together taking care of our every need. Hotels, transportation, food, and bikes were first class. Great job VBT. Look forward to booking another trip soon.

A marvelous trip in every way

Everything about this trip was perfect from the time we were picked up at the airport in Bari. Alberbello was scenic and it was great to stay in a trulli and from there, it only got better each day. Our guide Deborah was most helpful. She was there when roads were closed and a slight detour was needed and had the best advice on where to eat, what to see, and how to get the most from out trip. The rides along the coasts were out of this world. The inland rides through olive groves and farmland, equally special. We felt attended to and every need anticipated. Would do this trip another trip like this in a nanosecond. Thanks, Deborah!

The Majestic Julian Alps

Fabulous trip. Slovenia is a relatively undiscovered destination with fabulous scenery, people and hidden gems. There were only 9 people on the tour (fantastic) and our guides, Ajda and Matija, made the trip memorable and personal. The riding for me and my friend, was perfect, we only had a few mishaps (me!) and we saw incredible scenery and history. I would recommend this trip for riders of all ability.

Coastal Vistas and Vineyards.

Our guides were wonderful. Pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful. My water bottle was full every morning! The hotels were in great locations and the food provided was delicious and represented the food of Chile. The activities after biking were fun. We blended wine, had a cooking class, tasted wine, etc.

Great experience; great staff!

This was a fantastic trip taken at the perfect time of the year in September. We were able to ride, swim and dine in gorgeous settings every day. The chance to meet the locals in their homes for dinners and to hear of their lives in Croatia was priceless. We were very fortunate to have two excellent guides in Nevenka and Natasha; they were both so knowledgeable and accommodating, we couldn’t have asked for better leaders!

Amazing trip with incredible guides

The guides were the highlight of the trip. Their knowledge of South Africa and their palpable love of their country made each day an amazing, life-changing experience. The scenery on the bike rides was incredible and the cultural experiences were unforgettable. I fell in love with the country and its people and was sad to leave.

Fantastic!

I had never been to Acadia, what an introduction. This was an exceptionally well thought out adventure that gave us full exposure to Acadia and the people and culture of Maine. It was extremely well organized and first class in every way, accommodations, locations, guides, service. Safety was always paramount. Anne and Justin were a fabulous team. I will definitely be coming back to Acadia and to VBT!
