Spend 4 nights at the iconic, 5-star Broadmoor Resort

BRISTOL, VT — Due to traveler demand for more active choices for avid cyclists, VBT is introducing a new high performance bicycling vacation, Colorado Springs: Epic Cycling in America’s West. The starting price is $2195 for the 5-day vacation and the first departures go out in the fall of 2013 and include August 18, September 8 and 22, and October 13.

Featuring invigorating rides within the scenic Garden of the Gods, along Pike’s Peak Highway and through the U.S. Air Force Academy, this biking vacation allows travelers to experience the unique geography of Colorado Springs from the perfect vantage. Additionally, VBT provides full on-tour support so that cyclists can feel free to push themselves, knowing that the VBT van is always there to offer refreshments or a ride.

“When it comes to developing vacations, we take our travelers’ input very seriously. Recently, we’ve heard a lot of requests for biking vacations with more mileage options right here in the U.S. We couldn’t think of a more perfect setting for that type of vacation than Colorado Springs,” said VBT President Gregg Marston.

VBT’s Colorado Springs vacation strikes the perfect balance between invigoration and relaxation. Included in the cost of the vacation, VBT guests will enjoy spending 4 nights at the 5-star, AAA 5-Diamond Broadmoor Resort. With a luxury day spa, 54 holes of championship golf, six tennis courts, 18 cafes and restaurants and a number of indoor/outdoor pools, the Broadmoor’s amenities live up to its 5-star designation.

“Staying at one hotel throughout a vacation differs a little from what we usually do here at VBT, but with this particular tour we really wanted our travelers to be able spend their days riding and their evenings unwinding and even pampering themselves a bit. And quite honestly, the Broadmoor, with all of its luxurious amenities, is the perfect base for a vacation in Colorado Springs,” said Chris Skilling, VBT Director of Worldwide Product.

With a number of daily mileage options ranging from moderate riding to advanced cycling, VBT will equip each traveler with a new Fuji Gran Fondo 1.5 performance bicycle at no additional charge.

“Of course quality and value are the two key components of any VBT Vacation, and our new Colorado Springs vacation is no exception to that rule. Travelers can still expect to get the service of two expert Trip Leaders, most meals and their accommodations all built into the cost of the vacation. Those are features that we’re proud to offer on all of our active vacations. Now we get to offer them as part of an exciting vacation in stunning, Colorado Springs,” said Marston.

Founded in 1971 by a Middlebury College professor, VBT offers deluxe, small group bicycling, walking and cross-country skiing tours worldwide, including destinations in Europe, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, Peru, Argentina, Canada and the U.S.A. Each trip includes all accommodations, many meals, two expert local Trip Leaders, unique sightseeing and cultural activities, and full vehicle support. Unlike other companies, VBT also includes international airfare in its trip cost.
