Hotel Goldener Hirsh is a 5-star luxury hotel situated on the renowned Getreidegasse Street in the very heart of Salzburg. The hotel has an historic background, having been founded by Giovanni Zenatello (1876-1949), a well-known impresario who promoted a grand opera event at the Verona Arena to celebrate Giuseppe Verdi’s birth. The Arena was transformed into the greatest open-air opera theater in the world. Today, the incredible magic of the opera season at the Arena recurs every summer, bringing to Verona some 500,000 opera enthusiasts who marvel at the stage. Zenatello lived much of his life at the Accademia Hotel and eventually purchased it. The hotel still belongs to the Zenatello family today.

The location is quiet, yet right near the center of town, and only a short distance from the Obertilliach Ski Center. After a day on the trails, enjoy the sauna, bar, small wine lounge, or just relax in your sunny room. Enjoy Christian’s home-cooked Tyrolean specialties, like apricot streudel and Tiroler schweinstelze, hearty braised pork flavored with juniper and cream.

The Braito family has managed this chalet-style Dolomite retreat for more than 30 years, winning generations of guests with their legendary hospitality and attention to detail.
