Como, once the capital of the
silk industry in Italy, is today an inviting tourist destination. The city center is small and intimate, very
enjoyable to stroll. Peer into its silk fabric or gourmand shops, enjoy a drink
or lunch in one of the cafes and pastry shops on the lake esplanade. You can
also board a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus and spend a day visiting the
elegant villas and romantic surroundings on the western side of the lake. Two of the most beautiful lake cities in Switzerland
are just 20 to 50 minutes away: A short train ride will take you to Lugano and you’ll be back by evening.Available only with the Air Inclusive Package.

Day 1 - Depart U.S./Fly overnight to Milan
Depart from the U.S.
for Italy.
The particulars of your arrival overseas are detailed with your flight
itinerary and airline tickets.
Day 2 - Arrive in Milan/Transfer to Como/Begin your Trip Extension
Arrive at the Malpensa airport in Milan, Italy, where a VBT
representative meets you and helps you transfer (approximately 1 hour) to your
centrally located hotel in Como. At the hotel, our VBT representative will be
available at 5:30 pm to answer your questions, offer a short orientation walk
of Como and help you organize your time in the area. The rest of the day is
free to explore and dine on your own with your VBT City Information as your
guide. The area is full of wonderful options for shopping and dinner.
Please note: If you arrive early, your hotel room may not be
available until 2 pm. You may store your luggage with the Reception Desk.
Please note: VBT transfer times and departure points are
finalized in advance and cannot be modified for individual guests. If you fly
in earlier than the scheduled program dates, transportation from the airport
will be at your own expense.
Day 3 - Independent exploration of Como
Continue to explore Como
on your own. With the help of our City Information, maybe take a train to
Lugano (only 20 minutes away) and discover the Swiss cities on
your own.
Day 4 - Independent exploration of Como/Begin Main Tour
Continue to explore Como on your own. Board a hop-on-hop-off
sightseeing bus and discover the beautiful villas and gardens on the western
bank at your own pace. Or take a funicular train to Brunate to enjoy a
spectacular view of the region and walk back to your hotel downhill.
