Puglia’s coastal towns have a Mediterranean climate with relatively mild
weather year-round. Winter temperatures average in the 50s F. and often reach
into the 60s. Occasional rains are followed by long periods of sunny weather.
Spring comes early and ushers in even warmer temperatures, mostly in the 70s F.
Summer has settled, sunny weather that can be quite hot at mid-day.

In Rome, the weather is considerably milder year-round than in
the central United States. Temperatures average in the 40s and 50s F. during
winter, and in the 60s and 70s F. during spring and autumn. Winter rains can be
heavy, but extended periods of sunshine are also common.
