Weather & Climate

The weather in central France is unpredictable; sunny, warm days are likely but showers and cool temperatures are also possible. During our cycling season, August is the hottest month, with May through July and September through October more moderate. At Dijon, average highs in July and August are in the high 70s°F, with nighttime lows in the high 50s°F, while October is our coolest cycling month with average highs in the mid-50s°F and average nighttime lows in the low 40s°F.

The chart below for Paris gives you some indication of the year-round climate in France. Paris has about the same weather as the U.S. Middle Atlantic States, though it's usually not warmer than 75°F, or colder than 30°F. The city’s weather is quite changeable; bright skies can abruptly give way to a chilly drizzle, then the rain can end as quickly as it began. Rain is common throughout the year.

A good Internet site for checking current weather conditions is www.weather.com.
