Immerse yourself in Panama’s wonders, both natural and
man-made. Central America’s most cosmopolitan city, Panama boasts an inviting range of
architectural styles, and a wide variety of dining options and cultural
activities. Explore Panama’s
roots in Casco Viejo or the historic Panamá Viejo or make your way outside of
the city wander in the natural rainforests of Parque Natural Metropolitano. And
during your airport transfer on you last day in Panama,
you will have the opportunity to see the sites of Panama
City on an included city tour and we’ll also visit the Miraflores
Locks where you will learn about the Panama Canal’s
role in history. All the while, your base for independent exploration is the

Day 1 - Depart U.S./Fly to Panama City, Panama/Transfer to Resort
Your flight departs from the U.S. for Panama early this
morning. The particulars of your arrival overseas are detailed with your flight
itinerary and airline tickets. Please note that flights departing from the East
Coast will typically arrive in Panama mid-afternoon while West Coast flight
departures will arrive later in the evening.
Upon arrival, a VBT representative meets you and helps you transfer to
your hotel in Panama City. VBT provides you with City Information in your Final
Travel Booklet containing recommendations on what to see during your
independent stay in Panama. Take the afternoon to settle into your
accommodations and to start your exploration.
Please Note: There is a $5 US immigration fee upon arrival
at the Panama airport.
Day 2 - Independent exploration of Panama
Participate in any number of optional activities today. You
may wish to contact our Panama
partner for information about tours and activities available during your
stay. Additional information and tour
reservations are available on their website www.panamatrails.com.
Day 3 - Panama City, Miraflores Locks tour/Flight to Costa Rica
Later this morning, an included Panama City tour and Miraflores Locks tour will be provided en route to the airport for your late afternoon flight to Costa Rica.
Upon arrival at the San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport this evening, meet your complimentary hotel shuttle curbside outside the customs area. The driver will be holding a VBT sign or a Ramada Herradura sign. Then transfer by minibus (approximately 5-10 minutes) to your hotel in San Jose.
